Books for Older Readers

Every year the Children’s Book Council of Australia gives out awards to the best books published in Australia. Below is the short list of books selected for ‘older readers’ by the council. The big winners will announced on Friday 21 August 2009. (Just before Children’s Book Week)

Mosman Library holds all of these books so if you are looking for something new to read why not try one of these? Which one do you think will win big this year?

There are going to be a HEAP of great books hitting the Australian screens in 2009. Mosman Library holds copies of all of these books. Why not read them before you see them in the theatre (because we all know the book is always better than the film!)
