Teen Genres in Focus: Historic Fiction
Did you love “Chinese Cinderella and the Secret Dragon Society”?
Well you are not alone. This international best-seller about twelve-year-old CC who lives in China in the middle of World War Two has been loved by readers young and old. Mosman Library’s copies have been out over 60 times!
This popular book by Adeline Yen Mah is part of a growing style of YA book known as ‘historic fiction’. Historic fiction presents a story set in during a notable period in history.
If you like great stories set in the past, look for books with a green castle sticker on the spine. (just like the one above) Here is a list of young adult books that fall into the historic fiction genre:
