Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
The film itself is quite entertaining (better than the last one for sure!) And sufficiently dark. Definitely not one for the little kids. It might give nightmares to anyone under 10! But the darkness and violence are very true to the feel of the book. There is an interesting subplot about how the media and politicians manipulate public opinion. The use of The Daily Prophet was interesting and added to the pace to the film. It tied in with Umbridge’s ever opressive new rules that were nailed day after day to the Hogwarts stone wall. Both the notices and ‘The Daily Prophet’ had a similar look and feel while they both became more and more fanatical as the film progressed.
Some of the newer characters are very well cast. Evanna Lynch who plays Luna Lovegood is spacey but kind while Imelda Staunton who plays Dolores Umbridge is so creepy.
There were some awesome special effects. The fight scene at the end will leave your head spinning!
4 out of 5 by Amy B.
But what do you think? Is it great or lame?
Do you love Harry or are you over him?
